Former Asante Kotoko head coach Michael Osei has passed away at the age of 53.
Osei, who played for the Porcupine Warriors before transitioning to a coaching role with the club, reportedly died in London after being rushed to hospital due to chest pains. His untimely demise has left many close to him in shock.
The former midfielder enjoyed a successful coaching career, managing Bibiani Gold Stars and guiding them to an impressive fifth-place finish in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.
He also served as an assistant coach for Ghana's U23 national team, the Black Meteors.
Osei’s passing is a significant loss to Ghanaian football, particularly to those who admired his contributions as both a player and coach.
He was a member of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).
