Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku has commended Fenerbahce's resilience following their dramatic comeback victory over Slavia Prague in the UEFA Europa League.
Djiku, who played the entire match, was instrumental in the Turkish side’s hard-fought 2-1 win on Thursday night. Fenerbahce endured an early blow when Tomas Chory gave Slavia Prague the lead just seven minutes into the game.
However, the visitors regrouped, with Edin Dzeko equalising in the 35th minute after a precise assist from Sebastian Szymanski. The first half ended with the scores level at 1-1.
The decisive moment arrived in the 85th minute when Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri sealed the win with a clinical finish, earning Fenerbahce three crucial points.
After the match, Djiku shared his delight on Instagram, writing:
"An important victory with a fighting spirit. Never give up. That’s Fenerbahce. Thank you for your amazing support.”
Djiku, who has made 17 appearances across all competitions this season, continues to play a pivotal role for the Turkish giants as they push for success both domestically and in Europe.
