John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, has called to congratulate him on his victory in the 2024 general elections.
Dr Bawumia’s concession comes after provisional results from Saturday’s polls pointed to an emphatic win for Mahama.
In a gesture aimed at fostering unity and maintaining national calm, Bawumia announced his decision to concede, recognising the will of the people.
Sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter), Mahama wrote, “I have, this morning, received a congratulatory call from my brother Dr @MBawumia, following my emphatic victory in Saturday’s election. Thank you, Ghana.”
