The MP-elect for Ho Central Constituency, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has promised to work hard to bring prosperity to his constituents in the Volta Region.
He stressed that this would be the reward for the struggle his constituents went through during the electioneering to help him win Saturday’s polls.
Mr Kpotosu, who contested on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 62,325 representing 88.80% of the total votes.
Addressing party enthusiasts after his declaration, he stressed reciprocating the love they exhibited towards him by delivering on the mandate of the people.

“The love you have shown to me and the NDC must not go to waste. I commit myself to working hard so that you will enjoy the suffering you have gone through. Ele Zu, Viva Mahama, Viva Kpotosu”, said Mr. Kpotosu
Mr Kpotosu’s win gives the NDC a 100% win in the parliamentary race in the Volta Region where the opposition clinched all 18 seats.
He promised enhanced healthcare, intensified education, skill development, and job creation during his tenure.
Mr. Kpotosu’s closest contender in the parliamentary race, Divine Bosson of the New Patriotic Party polled 5,737 votes, with Mawulorm Kwame Klutse, - an Independent Candidate - recording 2,025 votes and the National Democratic Party’s Vide Nelso Kofi accruing 96 votes.
John Dramani Mahama recorded 65,392 votes out of 70,062 total valid votes in the contest which recorded a 62.35% voter turnout in the Ho Central Constituency.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia polled 4,153 representing 5.93% of the total valid votes with the rest of the candidates sharing the remaining 33.77%.
There were 671 rejected ballots which represented 0.95% of total votes cast.
