The Parliamentary Candidate for Dome Kwabenya on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, has won the seat.
The Electoral Officer at the Dome Kwabenya collation centre declared her the winner after she defeated Mike Oquaye Jnr to secure the seat previously held by Sarah Adwoa Safo.
Faustina won with 51,634 votes while Mike Oquaye Jnr trailed with 50,477 votes.
The election process was marked by a series of conflicts between supporters of both parties, with each side accusing the other of attempting to subvert the will of the people in their favor.
Following the announcement, Faustina's team burst into excitement at the collation centre as the crowd outside erupted into a thunderous uproar.
