The NDC Director of Election Monitoring, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has assured Ghanaians of the party’s commitment to recovering public resources lost to corruption and mismanagement will be unwavering.
Speaking after the party’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, was declared winner of the 2024 elections, Dr. Omane Boamah stated that “Operation Recover All” will be a reality and not a sham.
“Ghanaians have spoken decisively,” Dr. Omane Boamah said.
“This outcome—over a 1-million-vote margin—is a clear repudiation of the Akufo-Addo and NPP government.
"Now that there is a government in waiting, we are determined to ensure accountability, and the people can trust us to deliver on our promises.”
Dr. Omane Boamah highlighted the NDC’s plans to hold the outgoing government accountable for its stewardship.
“President Mahama stayed in the country after the 2016 loss, as did many of us, to account for our tenure. We expect the same from the NPP administration. Operation Recover All will not be a mirage.
"The unemployed youth who came out in their numbers to vote for President Mahama deserve better, and we will provide them with hope, dignity, and decent-paying jobs through the 24-hour economy plan.”
The director also called on the outgoing government to respect the transition process, warning against last-minute financial obligations that could burden the incoming administration.
“We do not expect them to incur unnecessary expenditures or sign binding contracts during this period. Financial institutions should also desist from honoring such obligations,” he said.
Dr. Omane Boamah reaffirmed the party’s dedication to building a government focused on integrity and transparency.
“This is the time to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition. The days of recklessness and unaccountability are over. Operation Recover All is not just about recovering looted resources; it’s about restoring hope and trust in leadership,” he stated.
He also acknowledged the sacrifices of Ghanaians in making this victory possible, citing the overwhelming turnout of youth voters who placed their faith in the NDC.
“Hope is here, and it has been declared with President Mahama as president-elect. Ghanaians have every reason to believe that this administration will deliver,” Dr. Omane Boamah concluded.
