The Legal Counsel to President Nana Akufo-Addo, Kow Essuman, has highlighted the significant impact of the President’s leadership and diplomacy across both regional and continental platforms.
His remarks followed glowing tributes paid to President Akufo-Addo during the recent ECOWAS Summit held in Abuja, Nigeria.
During the summit, the President of Nigeria and Chairman of ECOWAS, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praised President Akufo-Addo’s contributions to regional diplomacy and governance.

President Tinubu described his Ghanaian counterpart as a source of wisdom and leadership, encouraging others to "drink from his fountain of wisdom."
In a symbolic gesture, President Tinubu called for a standing ovation in honour of Akufo-Addo’s distinguished service, a motion that was echoed by Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara.
The recognition reflected President Akufo-Addo’s enduring influence in promoting stability, cooperation, and development within the West African sub-region and beyond.
His tenure has been marked by active involvement in regional conflict resolution and strong advocacy for continental unity, earning him widespread respect among his peers.
Kow Essuman underscored the deep appreciation shown by fellow leaders, noting that President Akufo-Addo’s absence would be keenly felt.
"One thing was clear: President Akufo-Addo’s leadership and diplomacy on both the regional and continental stages will be missed," he said.
