Karela United are on the verge of appointing Nurudeen Amadu as their new head coach, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.
Amadu, who led FC Samartex 1996 to their first-ever Ghana Premier League title in the 2023/2024 season, will replace Jimmy Corbblah at the helm.
Jimmy Corbblah was tasked with guiding Karela United from relegation to a mid-table position when he took over in February 2024. Although he successfully achieved this goal, leading the team to a 12th-place finish.
The current season has seen the team struggle ,with only three wins, five draws, and eight defeats in 16 games.
Karela United sit in the relegation zone, occupying the 16th position on the league log.
The appointment of Nurudeen Amadu is seen as a strategic move to bring a winning mentality to the team.
Amadu's success with FC Samartex 1996 has earned him a reputation as a capable and inspiring coach.
Karela United hopes that he will be able to replicate this success and lift the team from the relegation zone to a respectable mid-table position.
Karela United will face Nsoatreman FC on matchday 17 at the Nana Konamansah Sports Complex this weekend.
The match is expected to be a crucial test for the team, and Nurudeen Amadu will likely be officially unveiled as the new head coach before the game.
