Chief Kwamigah Gabriel Tanko Atokple, a humanitarian and National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart in the Volta Region and a Council of State aspirant has congratulated James Gunu, the region's minister-designate.
According to him, Mr Gunu’s appointment is a well-deserved recognition of his steadfast commitment to justice, equitable governance, and anti-corruption principles. These values, he noted, are the pillars upon which the NDC’s national revival is built.
"The election results not only endorsed the NDC but also delivered a resounding vote of confidence in Hon. Gunu’s exemplary leadership. His principles resonate deeply with the aspirations of 'Voltarians', especially the youth, who are eager for transformative change," Chief Kwamigah said in his congratulatory message to Mr Gunu.
Mr Gunu’s political journey has been marked by significant achievements, including his tenure as District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akatsi North, where he laid the foundation for inclusive and sustainable development. His elevation to the position of Volta Regional Minister Designate represents a beacon of hope for the region.
Chief Kwamigah noted, "This appointment is not just a personal achievement, but a collective victory for the Volta Region. Hon. Gunu embodies the hopes and ambitions of a new generation of 'Voltarians' who yearn for progress, innovation, and meaningful opportunities."
Chief Kwamigah highlighted the immense responsibility that comes with the role. The people of the Volta Region, particularly the youth, are looking to Hon. Gunu to lead initiatives that address critical issues such as unemployment, infrastructure development, and social welfare.
In his message, Chief Kwamigah pledged unwavering support to Hon. Gunu, emphasising the collaborative spirit that characterised their efforts during the 2024 elections. "As we did during the elections, I stand ready to support Hon. Gunu every step of the way. Together, we will work towards a prosperous Volta Region that will serve as a model for the entire nation," he affirmed.
Chief Kwamigah expressed confidence in Hon. Gunu’s ability to transform the Volta Region into a hub of growth and opportunity. Drawing on his extensive experience and unwavering commitment to development, Hon. Gunu is expected to address the region’s pressing needs while upholding the values of justice and transparency.
As the Volta Region prepares to embark on this transformative journey, Chief Kwamigah called on all stakeholders, including traditional leaders, youth groups, and civil society organisations, to rally behind Hon. Gunu. He urged unity and a shared commitment to realising the region’s full potential.
In conclusion, Chief Kwamigah’s message resonated with optimism and hope for the future:
"Hon. James Gunu’s appointment is a shining light for the Volta Region. I am confident that his tenure will bring about significant and lasting change. Congratulations once again, and may this new chapter mark the beginning of unparalleled progress for our beloved region."
