Parliament has officially approved three more nominations as ministers-designate.
The approved nominees are Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum as Minister of State-designate for Special Initiatives, Kenneth Adjei as Minister-designate for Works, Housing, and Water Resources, and Linda Ocloo as Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate.
This decision followed extensive deliberations on the Appointments Committee’s report, which evaluated the candidates' qualifications, experience, and suitability for their respective roles.
The approval came after a thorough vetting process, during which members of Parliament from both sides of the House rigorously scrutinized the nominees.
Interestingly, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley Ocloo was the fastest nominee to complete the Parliamentary Appointments Committee's vetting so far.
The nominee breezed through her vetting on Tuesday, January 28 in record time.
The nominee was not asked any questions by the committee members.
Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin only indicated that the delegation that accompanied her is formidable and proves her competence to run the Ministry.
After that, Chairman, Bernard Ahiafo acknowledged the nominee's guests and discharged Linda.
In all, the Member of Parliament for Shai Osudoku spent less than 10 minutes before the committee.
The newly appointed ministers-designate are expected to bring their expertise and leadership to their positions, contributing to national development and the effective implementation of government policies.
