The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has expressed strong confidence that the water supply to Ho and its surrounding communities will be fully restored, promising much-needed relief for residents.
GWCL engineers report that considerable progress has been made in repairing and testing key components of the water system.
During a visit on Friday, February 7, to the Kpeve Headworks, Volta Regional Minister Mr. James Gunu received detailed updates from the engineers lead by Mr Francis Lamptey, the General Manager of GWCL in Ho.
Mr. Lamptey outlined the ongoing repair efforts on broken pumps and related infrastructure that have been affecting the water supply.
This follow-up visit comes as part of the Minister’s commitment to resolving the water crisis, a pledge made in response to earlier concerns raised by the affected communities.
The Minister stressed that ensuring access to clean water is a fundamental right and reiterated his commitment to working closely with all stakeholders to monitor the progress of the restoration efforts.
“Access to clean water is a fundamental right, and I will work tirelessly with all stakeholders to find lasting solutions to these challenges,” Mr. Gunu declared.
Meanwhile, on Monday, February 3, both the Regional Minister and GWCL Managing Director Mr. Adam Mutawuakilu reassured the public that coordinated efforts with GWCL engineers were well underway. They confirmed that repair work on the faulty pump was in progress, with plans to restore the water supply by the coming weekend.
These concerted efforts highlight the government’s determination to address the water crisis promptly and effectively, ensuring that the communities in Ho and its environs regain a reliable water supply as soon as possible.
