President John Mahama has stated that the ideas collected from the national education forum which kicked off today, Tuesday, February 18, will be put into action.

"As a government, we are fully committed to this process and the outcomes of this conference. I assure you that your recommendations will not gather dust on a shelf." He said during the national launch of the National Education Reform in Ho on Tuesday.

Mr Mahama further emphasised that the feedback gathered by the committee will not serve as "symbolic recommendations" but will instead form the foundation of a comprehensive reform agenda aimed at building an inclusive, equitable, and transformative education system for Ghana, benefiting all Ghanaians.

The President added "We'll prioritise the actionable reforms proposed here with clear timelines and measurable outcomes to guide our steps. Regular updates on progress will be shared with the public to build trust and transparency."

The President established an eight-member committee to travel across the country to gather ideas on how to transform the education sector.

The committee, led by Professor George K. T. Oduro, a former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, has been given two weeks to submit a comprehensive plan based on the forum's discussions.
