A 27-year-old SHS graduate has been arrested by the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Command for allegedly murdering a 75-year-old spiritual healer and injuring three others at Twifo Kwame Alert in the Hemang Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region.
According to eyewitnesses, Kweku Twia had a misunderstanding with his father, which escalated into violence, and he allegedly butchered his father with a machete, inflicting severe injuries on his neck, hands, and stomach.
The suspect then moved to the community, where he met Ante Amataa, and murdered her with a machete, inflicting three fatal wounds on her.
After committing the act, Twia allegedly fled into the bush but later returned to the community, where he attacked and wounded two more people.
The community was thrown into a state of fear and panic, prompting a public announcement which subsequently led to his arrest by the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Command, led by Superintendent Charles Addei Boateng.
Nana Kojo Damptey, the linguist of Twifo Kwame Alert, said Twiah may be involved in drug abuse, citing his calm demeanour.
The body of the spiritual healer has been deposited at the Twifo Praso Government Hospital, while the three other victims are battling for their lives in the same hospital.
