Former MP for Tema West Constituency and Immediate Past Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), has donated one hundred thousand cedis to victims of the Adum Blue Light Market inferno.
Irene Naa Torshie Addo's gesture was done through the Rene Addo Foundation.
The politician insisted, "Though the NPP, which is my party, has been here, I had to come to support my women. It is very necessary."

In March, an inferno swept through the Adum Blue Light Market, consuming wares of thousands of traders.
Over 2,900 traders were negatively affected by the Blue Light Arena inferno.
Out of the figure, 1,500 people claim not to be in a position to feed themselves, hence, the need for food support.
Though the cause of the fire remains unknown, former District Assembly Common Fund Administrator, Irene Naa Torshie Addo, claims most market fires are caused by electrical faults and sub-standard wiring materials.

She wants factors that will make the market fire resilient to be factored into the rebuilding of the market.
"Most of these fires are caused by electrical challenges. Some electricians don't use the right materials, others don't do them properly and it results in fire," she said.
Most of the people affected by the market fire had no insurance.
For this reason, they are forced to seek loans and support from benevolent individuals to restart their business.
The former MP says education on insurance should be intensified.
"If you had insurance, you could have fallen on them for support. But it isn't too late, I will come back to hold conversations about that so that if this should happen again, you will not find yourself wanting", she added.
