Nations FC moved to the summit of the Ghana Premier League following their narrow 1-0 victory over Nations FC at the Abrankese Stadium.
It was a cagey first 45 minutes as relegation-threatened Lions held the hosts at bay.
However Sadiq Alhassan netted a fine goal in the 63rd minute which proved to be the decider in the contest.
It is now six wins in their last seven matches to puts them top of the table with 54 points.
Meanwhile, the defeat is a huge blow for Accra Lions who are in 16th with 32 points.
Nations FC face Legon Cities in their next fixture while Lions take on Aduana FC.
