Heart of Lions missed the opportunity to go top of the Ghana Premier League table following a goalless draw against Basake Holy Stars at the AAK Ampain Arena on Sunday.
In a closely contested match, both sides created chances, but it was the hosts who came closest to securing all three points.
In the 67th minute, Basake were awarded a penalty, but star forward Prince Tweneboah squandered the golden opportunity, failing to convert and leaving the scoreline unchanged.
The result sees Heart of Lions remain level on 54 points with Asante Kotoko and Nations FC, trailing league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by two points with three games remaining.
Despite the draw, Lions continue to boast one of the league’s best defensive records. However, it was a missed chance to go joint-top as the title race tightens.
Basake Holy Stars, meanwhile, move to 12th on the table with 37 points - just two points clear of the relegation zone.
Looking ahead, Basake face a challenging away tie against Bechem United, while Heart of Lions will hope to return to winning ways when they host Young Apostles.
