This evening's downpour has led to severe flooding along the Odorkor Junction–Kwashieman road, rendering the entire stretch impassable and causing significant traffic congestion.
Motorists navigating the submerged roadway faced slow-moving traffic, with vehicles inching through the waterlogged area.
This flooding comes on the heels of a devastating rainstorm over the weekend, which lasted nearly three hours and resulted in widespread inundation across Accra.
Areas including Weija, Kaneshie, Adabraka, Adenta-Dodowa, and parts of Tema were severely affected, with reports confirming the loss of at least three lives in Adenta and significant property damage.
In anticipation of such events, the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) had issued a weather alert earlier today, warning of thunderstorms and rain of varying intensities expected across parts of the country, including the coastal and middle sectors.
Residents are advised to exercise caution, avoid flood-prone areas, and stay updated with weather forecasts as the rainy season progresses.
