Heart of Lions secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Bechem United at the Kpando Sports Stadium, keeping their Ghana Premier League title hopes alive.
Kwesi Pong broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute, scoring the first goal for Hearts of Lions. Seedorf Asante doubled the lead in the 66th minute, giving Heart of Lions a comfortable 2-0 cushion.
However, Bechem United refused to give up and pulled one back in the dying minutes of the game through N. Z. Traore in the 90+5 minute, reducing the deficit to a single goal.
Despite the late goal, Heart of Lions held on to secure a vital win.
The Lions' victory saw them earn 3 points, taking their total to 57 points, but they remain in 4th place in the Ghana Premier League table.
Bechem United, on the other hand, despite the loss moved up to 9th place with 44 points, tying with 10th-placed Aduana Stars on points.
The win keeps Heart of Lions' title aspirations alive, and they will now focus on their upcoming match against league leaders Nations FC in matchday 34.
Bechem United, meanwhile, will look to bounce back against Young Apostles in their next match.
