The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has been formally sworn in as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday, 25th June 2025, and also marked the induction of Prof Ransford Gyampo, acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, as a member of the newly reconstituted GPHA Board.
The appointments form part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen the governance structure of the GPHA and provide strategic leadership in the ongoing development and regulation of Ghana’s port infrastructure.
The new board is tasked with setting the policy direction for the Authority, improving operational efficiency, and supporting key infrastructure expansion projects across the country’s major ports.
The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority plays a central role in facilitating international trade, and the new leadership is expected to drive reforms aimed at boosting competitiveness, enhancing revenue mobilisation, and positioning Ghana as a leading maritime hub in West Africa.
