Communication Director of Asante Kotoko, Safo Duku, has voiced deep disappointment over recent comments made by former midfielder of the team, Justice Blay.
In a recent interview on Pure FM, Blay alleged that some players at Kotoko are engaged in inappropriate behavior, including snatching girlfriends and indulging in alcoholism while in camp.
Reacting to the claims on Kick Off on Luv FM, Safo Duku described the remarks as unfortunate and unexpected, particularly given the cordial terms on which the club and Blay agreed to part ways.
“We think that the comments from our former player are very unfortunate and it was least expected from him.
"After we had a very fruitful discussion and mutually terminated our contract, we thought that the dust had settled. And for him to have gone out there to make those comments is very unfortunate,” he said.
Lawyer Duku further stated that investigations are already underway and an official statement may be issued soon regarding the matter.
“But as a club, we are also looking at the whole issue and we may come out officially.
"These are allegations that he has made.We are investigating the issues and then we will come out at the appropriate time.
“Now, I mean, he levelled a number of allegations including drinking in camp, snatching each other's girlfriends and stuff like that” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Blay has publicly apologised to his ex-teammates and the club's supporters following the controversial remarks that sparked backlash.
