The Ministry for Sports and Recreation has paid all outstanding allowances owed the Black Queens.
Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, Charity Gbedawo, confirmed this on Sunday, in an exclusive chat with JoySports WAFCON 2024 correspondent Lawrence Baidoo.
"They had a few challenges along the line... their finances were delayed a bit. But to the glory of God, the Minister for Sports and Recreation (Kofi Iddie Adams) facilitated the quick release of the money and they have been sorted out."
Her Excellency Gbedawo expressed faith that the payments will spark a morale boost ahead of Monday's final group game.
"Their morale has gone up so on this note, I believe that tomorrow's match they are going to make Ghana proud. I know they will score (win) so that they move on (qualify) to the next game ."
Ghana has only a point from two games and are at the bottom of Group C heading into their final group stage match.Â
The Black Queens recorded a 2-0 loss to South Africa in Oujda, and a 1-1 draw with Mali in Berkane.
Friday’s 1-1 draw with Mali means that the have not won any of their last four WAFCON matches – two draws and two losses.
To qualify, the Queens need to beat Tanzania by a wide margin to topple either South Africa or Mali.
Or win convincingly, and qualify as one of the best third-placed teams in the group stage. Either way, a win is non-negotiable.
