The Obuasi Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service successfully thwarted a robbery attempt on the Tutuka-Akrofuom road.
The incident unfolded recently, as police responded promptly to a distress call from the public, leading to the arrest of one suspect.
The suspect, identified as Pascal Yenkye, was apprehended during a daring chase that saw police officers pursue the gang into nearby bushes.
Reports indicate that as the suspects fled the scene, they abandoned two unregistered motorbikes and a machete, likely in a frantic effort to evade capture.

During the pursuit, Yenkye was caught but not without injury; he sustained a leg injury while attempting to escape on his motorbike. He is currently receiving medical treatment under police supervision, ensuring that he remains in custody while recovering.
While one suspect has been detained, several others managed to flee and are currently at large. In response, the police have launched an extensive manhunt to track down the remaining members of the gang. Authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to restore safety to the area and bring all involved to justice.

The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining security, law, and order throughout the country. This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in preventing crime and ensuring public safety.
As the investigation continues, the police encourage community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The swift action taken by the Obuasi Divisional Command exemplifies the importance of cooperation between law enforcement and the public in fostering a safer environment for all.
