The Gomoa Ojobi District Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of a security guard at a One District One Factory (1D1F) company.
The guard was reportedly killed while attempting to prevent a group of robbers from stealing coils from ECG transformers and other metal components.
The main suspects have been identified as 28-year-old businessman Samuel Larbie and 32-year-old motor mechanic Wisdom Sosu.
The other two, Nabil Mohammed and Mahmoud Kardi, are said to have purchased the deceased’s mobile phone as well as copper wires and coils stolen from the two ECG transformers.
As reported by Adom News on June 30, 2025, 65-year-old Alexander Kwaku Boateng, a security man at the 1D1F facility in Gomoa Akoti, was suffocated to death after confronting the robbers during their attempted theft.
According to the police, the suspects tied the victim’s legs, knees, and hands before covering his head with a polythene bag, leading to his death by suffocation.
Investigations revealed that six robbers from Fetteh Kakraba stormed the facility, killed the guard, and made away with valuable items from two ECG transformers valued at GHS250,000, as well as the deceased’s Infinix Smart 8 mobile phone, estimated at GHS 1,800.
Meanwhile, four of the suspects are currently on the run, and police efforts are underway to apprehend them.
