An emotional scene unfolded at the Jubilee House on Friday, August 8, as Sam Nartey George, Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, broke down in uncontrollable tears during a wreath-laying ceremony held in honour of the five government officials and three crew members who perished in Wednesday’s tragic military helicopter crash.
The Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram constituency was seen weeping openly as he stood before the memorial.
Sam George, who was known to share a close bond with the late Defence Minister, Dr Omane Boamah, appeared visibly shaken as he approached the flower-draped display.
The wreath-laying ceremony drew senior government officials, state ministers, public institutions, military officers, and mourners from across the country.
It is part of the activities lined up for the three-day national mourning declared by President Mahama.
