Ghanaian gospel music group Team Eternity has cleared the air on their absence from the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards performance.
They explained that a clash of events, both locally and internationally, made it impossible for them to participate, noting that the situation was beyond their control.
Nayaw, the music director of the group, shared this in an interview with Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli on Changes.
“We were supposed to go to the UK within that period. So there were yeses and nos, and some recording also came in at that same time,” he explained.
They debunked claims that they considered the event secular or that they were being prideful, stating that they saw it as a privilege to be invited to perform at such a prestigious event
“It was a privilege for them to invite us, so why would we turn down such an invitation?” he wondered.
Meanwhile, the team is preparing for the second edition of TEG LIVE, a live recording concert scheduled to take place on September 7 at the Grand Arena in Accra.

They recorded Defe Defe during the first edition, which became a hit song and earned them several award nominations.
At the second edition, twelve songs will be recorded, and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets and be part of this spirit-filled event.
