The Presidential Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has confirmed that five aspirants have successfully submitted their completed nomination forms ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primary slated for January 31st, 2026.
In a statement issued on Thursday, 28th August 2025, the Committee announced that the following individuals, who had earlier picked up nomination forms, have now officially filed to contest:
- Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong
- Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong
- Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong
- H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
- Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum
It would be recalled that nominations were officially opened on Tuesday, 29th July 2025, by the party’s General Secretary on behalf of the National Council, allowing interested members to enter the race to become the NPP’s presidential candidate for the 2026 general elections.

The Committee has assured all party members and stakeholders of its unwavering commitment to a transparent, credible, and fair process, in line with the party’s constitution and regulations.
“We remain fully dedicated to ensuring the integrity of this process,” the statement read.
The NPP presidential primary is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 31st January 2026.
The party has urged all stakeholders and aspirants to uphold the principles of decorum, unity, and mutual respect as the internal contest progresses.
