Antoine Semenyo has surpassed Tony Yeboah to become Ghana’s second-highest scorer in Premier League history after his sensational brace for Bournemouth in their 3-1 comeback win over Fulham on Friday night.
The 25-year-old moved two goals clear of the Leeds United cult hero with his 25th and 26th Premier League goals at a wet Vitality Stadium, taking his tally for the season to six.
Only Erling Haaland (8) has scored more league goals than Semenyo this season. With his assist on the night, he now ranks just behind Jack Grealish in assists, having registered three so far.
Semenyo has featured in 88 Premier League matches — 41 more than Yeboah, who played 47 times across three seasons for Leeds United.
Meanwhile, the Bournemouth forward’s 26 goals leave him 16 behind Ghana’s all-time top Premier League scorer, Jordan Ayew, who has netted 42 goals in 305 appearances over 11 seasons.
Semenyo averages a goal every three Premier League matches, while Ayew requires more than seven games to find the net.
In fourth place is Jeffrey Schlupp, the only Ghanaian in the top five to have won the Premier League title.
Antoine Semenyo has overtaken Tony Yeboah as Ghana’s 2nd highest top scorer in Premier League history with his brace against Fulham.
