A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics indicates that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is regaining significant ground among disgruntled NPP voters who switched allegiance in the 2024 elections.
The poll, published on the organisation’s social media platforms today (Monday, October 20), revealed that 63 per cent of disenchanted NPP voters in the Ashanti Region who voted for former President John Dramani Mahama (JDM) now prefer Dr Bawumia to lead the NPP.
Nationally, 39 per cent of this group also expressed renewed confidence in Dr Bawumia, compared to 36 per cent for Dr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong (KOA).

Analysts say this trend reflects a growing sense of reconciliation and belief in Dr Bawumia’s leadership vision, particularly his emphasis on economic recovery, innovation, and digital transformation.
“The fact that a majority of those who turned away in 2024 are now returning to support Dr Bawumia demonstrates his enduring appeal and credibility,” the report noted.

In the Ashanti Region — the party’s electoral bedrock — the resurgence in his support base could prove decisive in consolidating unity and boosting morale ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries.
Global InfoAnalytics further announced the commencement of its October 2025 delegates’ polls to assess whether those who voted for the leading contenders in earlier stages remain committed or are shifting allegiance.
Early indicators suggest that Dr Bawumia retains a strong advantage, positioning him as the frontrunner heading into the decisive January 2026 contest.
