Ghana Premier League side, Nations FC, have announced the departure of head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle and his assistant, Johnson Smith, despite securing a 3-2 victory over Eleven Wonders on matchday seven of the 2025/26 campaign.
The club confirmed the decision in an official statement released on Facebook shortly after the game, describing the move as a "mutual agreement."
“Nations FC have mutually parted ways with both Head Coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle and Assistant Coach Johnson Smith. We thank them for their service to the club. The club will not make any further comment,” the statement read.

Mingle leaves the Kumasi-based side after guiding them to two solid Premier League campaigns, finishing 7th and 5th in the last two seasons—the latter position affected by a points deduction following a mid-match boycott over alleged poor officiating.
This season, however, Nations have endured a difficult start, winning just two of their opening seven games, drawing twice and losing three.
Their campaign began with a 1-0 victory over newly promoted Swedru All Blacks, followed by a 2-1 defeat to Aduana Stars. Subsequent draws with Samartex and Asante Kotoko, and losses to Medeama and Dreams FC, left the team struggling for consistency.
Saturday’s 3-2 win—powered by an Emmanuel Annor hat-trick—appeared to offer some respite, but it ultimately marked the end of Mingle’s tenure.
Club CEO Kennedy Boakye Ansah reportedly made the decision soon after the match, drawing the curtain on their three-year working relationship.
Mingle’s exit marks the second early-season managerial change in the Ghana Premier League after GoldStars sacked Frimpong Manso a few weeks ago.
