Crystal Palace forward Eddie Nketiah says he is only focused on life at the club amid reports of a possible nationality switch to play for Ghana.
The forward, who represented England’s junior national teams and has played once for the senior team is reportedly looking to play for the Black Stars.
Nketiah is eligible to play for Ghana as he holds a dual citizenship through his parents.
The possible inclusion of diaspora players such as Nketiah Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi to Ghana’s team has sparked a fierce debate following the West African side’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
"At the moment, I'm just enjoying my football with Crystal Palace - that's been my main focus," Nketiah said when quizzed about the rumours by BBC Sport Africa.
"I'm Ghanaian and there's no denying that. Obviously I'm proud of my roots and where I've come from.
"I'm sure the future will take care of itself and what will be will be."
Per Fifa rules introduced in 2020, a player is eligible for a switch nationality provided they have played no more than three competitive matches at senior level prior to turning 21, or been involved at a major championship such as the World Cup or Africa Cup of Nations.
