The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has inaugurated the newly constituted Board of Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited (PSGL), a subsidiary of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
The inauguration was done on behalf of the President, marking a new phase in efforts to revitalise the operations of the gold-mining entity.
Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited plays a strategic role in Ghana’s extractive sector, focusing primarily on recovering gold from old tailings and waste ore.
The company’s mandate is aimed at promoting value addition within the mining industry while supporting job creation in host communities.
Its operations are expected to contribute meaningfully to national revenue and local development.
Addressing the new Board, Mr Jinapor urged members to uphold a high level of professionalism, transparency and urgency in the execution of their duties.
“The company’s purpose is clear, and its potential is significant. With the right leadership and focus, PSGL can once again become a strong pillar within our natural resources sector,” he said.
The newly inaugurated Board is chaired by Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore.
Other members include Kwame Ntow Amoah, Hajia Amina Adam, and Alhaji Ishaq Dauda.
The team brings a blend of managerial, financial and technical expertise expected to steer the company toward recovery and sustainable performance.
With the new Board in place, government expects renewed efficiency, operational discipline and a clear path toward long-term profitability.
The Minister expressed optimism that under its leadership, PSGL will reclaim its position as a vital contributor to Ghana’s mineral economy.
