Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has approved the promotion of 13 senior police officers in acknowledgement of their distinguished service and exceptional commitment to duty within the Ghana Police Service.
The promotions were announced on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, as part of the Police Administration’s ongoing efforts to reward professionalism, dedication and sacrifice in the line of duty.
A formal decoration ceremony was held at the National Police Headquarters at Cantonments in Accra, where the promoted officers were officially adorned with their new ranks.
Speaking at the ceremony, the IGP explained that the decision to promote the officers was based on their consistent display of perseverance, resilience and high standards of professionalism in the execution of their responsibilities.
He noted that the recognition was not only meant to honour the achievements of the 13 officers but also to serve as motivation for personnel across the Service to uphold integrity, discipline and excellence in their work.
Mr Yohuno encouraged all officers to remain steadfast in their commitment to national service, assuring them that hard work, loyalty and dedication would continue to be acknowledged and rewarded by the Police Administration.
