The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has swiftly responded to a road traffic accident involving a Scania truck at Asukawkaw in the Oti Region, the GNFS posted on its social media page on Sunday, December 28.
According to the GNFS, the truck was travelling from Benin to Nkawkaw when the accident occurred. Personnel from the Pai-Katanga Fire Post were immediately dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and prevent further hazards, saving the driver and his mate.

The response team, led by Sub Officer John Justice Kpego, arrived promptly and carried out safety operations after three occupants of the vehicle had been successfully rescued and conveyed to the Worawora Government Hospital for medical attention.

The GNFS said its officers worked to clear the road and secure the area to ensure the safety of other road users. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

The Service reiterated its commitment to rapid emergency response and the protection of lives and property across the country.
