Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Thursday, January 8, officially opened the 93rd edition of the Jalsa Salana Ghana 2026 in Gomoa in the Central Region, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive development and broad-based economic transformation.
Addressing participants at the three-day convention, the Vice President highlighted progress on the Pomadze multi-purpose poultry farm, a government-supported project expected to house about 100,000 birds with modern feeding systems.

She noted that the initiative aligns with the Feed Ghana and 'Nkoko Nkitinkiti' programmes, aimed at boosting local food production, creating jobs and strengthening the economy.
The Ameer of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, also used the platform to call for a renewed national commitment to fighting corruption.

He warned that its growing tolerance poses a serious threat to the country’s moral and developmental progress.
The Jalsa Salana, one of the largest annual Muslim gatherings in Ghana, brings together members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission for prayers, spiritual reflection and discussions on peace, morality and national development.

First held in Ghana several decades ago, the convention has become a key fixture on the country’s religious calendar.
