The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has reported significant achievements in boosting Ghana’s export sector during 2025, with several programmes aimed at supporting agricultural producers, small businesses, and international market access.
Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, speaking during her turn at the Government Accountability Series, said the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) provided over 211,000 coconut seedlings, two million pineapple suckers, and other planting inputs to out-growers to expand production for export markets.
“These initiatives are designed to strengthen our supply chain and ensure that Ghanaian produce meets global demand,” she noted.
The Minister also highlighted the success of Ghanaian businesses on the international stage.
“A total of 91 SMEs and seven horticultural associations secured export orders worth USD 350 million at major global trade fairs, while 150 SMEs in handicrafts and manufacturing generated over USD 250 million through global buyer-seller platforms,” she said.
Minister Ofosu-Adjare revealed that Ghana achieved a historic milestone by exporting mangoes by road to Morocco for the first time.
She added that the country also showcased digital services exports at GITEX Dubai, emphasising the government’s commitment to diversifying export opportunities beyond traditional commodities.
She concluded by affirming the government’s continued support for exporters, noting that these efforts not only increase foreign exchange earnings but also create employment and strengthen Ghana’s reputation in international trade.
“Our goal is to ensure that Ghanaian businesses have the tools, access, and support they need to thrive globally,” she said.
