Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced the successful completion of repair works on its 42-inch transmission main, bringing relief to customers in Tema and adjoining communities who experienced a disruption in water supply.
On Monday, January 19, 2026, GWL announced a critical transmission line that serves the eastern corridor of Accra, leading to widespread disruption in water distribution.
According to the utility provider, engineers and technical teams were immediately mobilised after the fault was detected and have since been working continuously to repair the damaged pipeline.
The company noted that the repair works were completed at 8:00 p.m. GMT on Tuesday, 20th January, 2026.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 21, GWL indicated that water supply to Tema, New Town, Kpone and neighbouring communities resumed from 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 21 January 2026.
