The government will continue its accountability series this year, citing positive public feedback and strong collaboration with the media, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has said.

Speaking in a one-on-one interview on JOYNEWS’ AM Show, Mr Kwakye Ofosu said the initiative has helped the government communicate its work more effectively to the public, particularly through the use of social media platforms.

“The feedback has been great. We have also been able to leverage social media to reach as many of our people as possible, and we’ve enjoyed very pleasant cooperation from you in the media. This has ensured that the message reaches the people. This year, we’ll continue,” he said.

The government accountability series was introduced as a platform for sector ministers and key government officials to account for their stewardship, outline policy decisions, and respond to public concerns. It forms part of efforts to improve transparency and public engagement in governance.

According to Mr Kwakye Ofosu, the involvement of the media has been central to the success of the programme, helping to amplify government messaging beyond traditional channels and reach a wider audience across the country.

He noted that social media engagement, coupled with television and radio discussions, has allowed citizens to better understand government policies and track progress on key national priorities, including economic recovery, infrastructure development, and social interventions.

The Minister indicated that the series will be sustained in 2026 as part of broader government communication reforms aimed at strengthening accountability and public trust.

The accountability sessions have featured presentations by ministers, followed by questions from journalists, analysts and the public, and have generated significant debate on governance and policy direction in recent months.
