Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, a contestant in the NPP Presidential primaries race is the most formidable, prepared and most marketed of all the contestants, Professor Bruce Amartey, a member of the Western Regional Campaign Team of Dr Bawumia has said.
He said Dr Bawumia was the best candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 presidential elections.
Prof. Amartey who spoke to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, added that the NPP must not make the mistake of changing a well marketed “breed “like Dr Bawumia who had been in the Presidency arena for many years now.
Dr Bawumia was the running mate to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who run on the ticket of the party after a two failed Presidency attempt.
Luck, eventually smiled at him in the 2016 elections when he assumed the reigns of government in 2017, and Dr Bawumia was a strong pillar in the governance of the nation leading the economy management team.
Professor Amartey was also the former Regional Coordinator for Alan Kyerematen, a strong NPP faithful who resigned from the Party to form the “Movement for Change” now UP Plus.
Giving the political party and Flagbearership trend in the Party and the country large, Prof. Amartey said, both NPP and NDC had over the period repeated candidate which had shown positive outcomes at the polls adding; “this is not the time to change but continue with Dr Bawumia for the Party’s own good.”
