Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has pledged to donate two months of his salary to the newly established Sports Fund, following the passage of the Sports Fund Bill by the Parliament of Ghana.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Mr Adams described the fund as a critical step toward revitalising sports development in the country and ensuring sustainable financing for athletes and federations.
The Minister said his decision to commit two months of his salary was a personal demonstration of support for the initiative and a call to action for other stakeholders to contribute towards the growth of sports in Ghana.
The Sports Fund is expected to serve as a dedicated financial vehicle to support grassroots sports, infrastructure development, athlete preparation, and the general promotion of sporting excellence nationwide.
