Residents of Poro, a farming community near Jindabor in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district of the Savannah Region, have assisted in the arrest of two men allegedly attempting to set a house on fire.
A locally manufactured firearm and two offensive weapons were retrieved and are currently in the possession of the Damongo Police.
The suspects, known only as Amadu Dari and Mumuni, have been taken to the regional police headquarters to assist with further investigations.
Police have stated that they are continuing their inquiry and are not ready to make comments on the case at this stage.
Joy News sources in the Poro community revealed that a known paramount chief in the region allegedly instructed the suspects to carry out the failed attempt. Authorities have not confirmed this claim.
