Bolt Ghana has hosted a safety and compliance session for 30 top-performing motorbike riders, reinforcing its commitment to rider welfare and road safety as Ghana prepares to implement the Okada Bill.
Under the theme “Steering Toward Safety: Empowering the Two-Wheel Revolution,” the session covered defensive riding, Class A licensing compliance, road signage, speed limits, and use of in-app SOS and dispute resolution tools.
Teddy Appa-Dankyi, Senior General Manager, West Africa, said: “As the two-wheel category continues to grow, safety remains our highest priority.
This initiative reflects our commitment to working collaboratively with riders and regulators to build a structured and responsible mobility ecosystem ahead of time.”
Participating rider Mireku Samuel Oteng commended the program: “Safety must always come first. I encourage my fellow riders to follow road safety rules and avoid speeding. The safety gear provided, like helmets and reflective vests, will go a long way in protecting us.”
The session ended with a safety pledge and handover of DOT-certified helmets and reflective vests. Bolt continues to invest in training, technology, and regulatory engagement to ensure growth in the motorbike category aligns with stronger safety standards.
