Hohoe United Football Club have announced their decision to withdraw from the Ghana Premier League effective immediately.
In a statement shared on the club's Facebook page, the club said "the Board of Hohoe United Football Club, after an emergency meeting held today, has arrived at the difficult decision to withdraw the club from the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League."
"This decision will be communicated officially to the Ghana Football Association."
Once the club serves written notice of its withdrawal to the GFA, the governing body will then activate its relevant regulations against the club.
Article 13(5) of the Regulations states that “where a club withdraws from the league after it has started, any match which that club is scheduled to play shall be considered forfeited and accordingly, three (3) points and three (3) goals shall be awarded in favour of the opposing club”.
On each scheduled matchday of Nsoatreman FC, three (3) points and three (3) goals were awarded in favour of the Nsoatreman's opponents until the end of the season.
Hohoe United, formerly Liberty Professionals, are currently second from bottom with 30 points in the 18-team competition after 27 matches.
The club was promoted to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after winning the Division One League Zone Three with 72 points last season.
