Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Fred Pappoe, has advised the Association to look at their financial situation before appointing the next coach.
Following the dismissal of Otto Addo as the team's head coach in the early hours of Tuesday, the GFA is now on the hunt for a new gaffer.
President of the FA, Kurt Okraku, mentioned there have been several applications for the vacant role, with lots of coaches also mentioned to be interested in the job.
Herve Renard, Walid Regragui, Kwasi Appiah, as well as Pitso Mosimane, have all been linked with the job, but Pappoe believes the GFA needs to be intentional about what they need.
"A coach who will not take long to understand our system," he told Joy Sports.
"A coach who knows the system, has a fair idea of the players, who can easily assimilate and get running, that is very important.
"But at the end of the day, we have to look at our pocket, how much can we afford."
Okraku also assured the next coach is expected to be named in the next 14 days as the Black Stars continue their preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
