Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has announced that Parliament will debate the upcoming 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review within three days, including Saturday.
The majority leader made this known while presenting the business committee's statement for the 10th week, from Tuesday, July 21, to Saturday, July 25.
The debate will follow the Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson's, scheduled presentation of the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government of Ghana for the 2026 Financial Year.
Mahama Ayariga said, "Comments on the statement will commence, and we expect Leadership to conclude the commentary on Monday, 27th July, 2026."
He added: "Due to the pending business before the House and time constraints, the Committee proposes that the House sit on Saturday, 25th July, 2026, to dispense with some outstanding business and continue with the commentary on the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government of Ghana for the 2026 Financial Year.
"In this regard, the Business Committee entreats Hon Members to avail themselves of the scheduled business of the House."
Ordinarily, the House does not sit on weekends or Mondays, allowing MPs time to return from their constituencies on Mondays ahead of parliamentary business on Tuesdays.
