Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has called on Ghanaians to embrace integrity, accountability and shared responsibility, saying the country's long-term development depends not only on economic growth but also on the values that guide its people and institutions.
Speaking at the National Development Conference organised by The Church of Pentecost, Mr Debrah said the event offered a valuable opportunity for citizens to reflect on the principles needed to drive Ghana's development.
He noted that he was honoured to represent President John Dramani Mahama and conveyed the President's greetings to the leadership of the Church for organising the conference.
Mr Debrah stressed that the character of citizens, the integrity of public institutions and the commitment of leaders to serve with honesty and accountability remain the true indicators of national progress.
"The progress of any nation is built not only on economic growth and physical infrastructure, but also on the strength of its values. A country's true advancement depends on the character of its people, the integrity of its institutions, and the commitment of its leaders to serve with honesty, accountability, and responsibility," he said.
The Chief of Staff also highlighted the role of religious and traditional institutions in promoting national development, describing them as custodians of Ghana's values, culture and social cohesion. He said stronger collaboration between government, the Church and traditional authorities was essential to building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
He commended the leadership of The Church of Pentecost for convening the National Development Conference and urged all sectors of society to work together in pursuit of Ghana's development aspirations through integrity, selfless service and a shared commitment to the common good.
