Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) has secured qualification to the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Championship after producing a dominant display in the Ashanti Regional Qualifiers.

The one-time national semi-finalists recorded 63 points to comfortably top their contest, finishing ahead of Ejisu Senior High Technical School, which scored 33 points, and Fomena T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, which ended with 20 points.

KUMACA controlled proceedings throughout the contest, combining speed, accuracy and composure to secure a convincing victory and book its place at the national championship.

The outstanding performance was further highlighted by a clean sweep of the GOIL PLC Riddle Bonanza, where KUMACA successfully solved all four riddles to record a perfect 4/4 and claim the GH¢800 cash prize.

The result adds to KUMACA’s growing reputation as one of the consistent performers in the NSMQ qualifiers.

With qualification secured, the Kumasi-based school will now turn its attention to the national championship, where it will compete against other qualified schools from across the country.

KUMACA’s latest performance signals its intent to make a strong impact when the 2026 NSMQ competition enters the national stage.
