Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, has held an engagement with the Chief of the Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, to strengthen collaboration between the energy sector and the military.
The meeting, announced by Dr Jinapor in a Facebook post on Wednesday, August 12, focused on areas where the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition and the Ghana Armed Forces can deepen cooperation to safeguard Ghana’s energy security.
Dr Jinapor said discussions centred particularly on the protection of critical energy infrastructure, emergency preparedness and the need for coordinated responses to potential threats to the energy sector.
He said closer collaboration between the Ministry and the Ghana Armed Forces would help strengthen the resilience of critical energy facilities and improve Ghana’s preparedness to respond effectively to threats and emergencies that could disrupt the country’s energy supply.
