There is widespread anger from teachers over the payment of ¢50 as allowance for the training program on the new curriculum.
The teachers say they feel short-changed because they were told to expect ¢100.
Joy News’ Eastern Regional Correspondent Edwin Kofi Siaw reported that in the Upper West Akim the training at Adieso SHS came to an abrupt end after learning they are to receive 50cedis.
The teachers filed out of the classrooms but were re-assembled with the District Director of Education Mary Yaa Akani assuring them an extra ¢50 would be paid later.

Unconvinced, the teachers abandoned the training, the reporter said.
Ashanti regional correspondent Ohemeng reported teachers protest at Juabeng SHS, Opoku Ware, Adventist SHS and Ejisuman SHS
A teacher said he found ¢50 insulting because he spends 20cedis daily in commuting from Bomfa Achiase to Juabeng SHS for the six-day workshop.
The teachers were already peeved after they were served cream crackers and Sobolo for lunch, Ohemeng Tawiah reported. They have also departed without taking the allowance.
At Accra Academy in the Greater Accra region, a video posted on Facebook showed teachers standing outside the classrooms rejecting the amount.
At several centers, police were called in to keep the peace as the agitations grew more threatening. An official reaction is expected to come from the Ghana Education Service in the coming days.
