Ghana's hopes of being at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hit a snag following defeat to Sudan on Tuesday, October 15.
The Black Stars fell to a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Falcons of Jediane in Libya on matchday four of the qualifying series.
Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud opened the scoring for the Falcons of Jediane in the 62nd minute following a failed clearance in the Ghanaian box leading to a mix-up.
The forward followed up Gideon Mensah's clearance off the line to tap into an empty net, making it 1-0.
Three minutes later, the home side doubled their lead. This time, Mohamed Abdelrahman outmuscled Mohammed Salisu before beating Lawrence Ati-Zigo to make it 2-0.
Inaki came close to reducing the deficit for Ghana but his volley from Tariq Lamptey's cross went wide of the post.
Despite the team's effort in the dying embers of the game, Otto Addo's men were unable to score as the game ended 2-0.
The defeat means Ghana would need other results going their way and hope they can win all of their games in the November international break when they play Niger and Angola.
The Black Stars sit third in Group F with just two points from four games, drawing two and losing two.
