Kwame Sarpong Asiedu, Democracy and Development Fellow (Health) at Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), believes President Akufo-Addo has been commissioning buildings in lieu of the promised 111 hospitals (Agenda 111) with absolutely no benefit to our healthcare system.
According to him, while the Agenda 111 vision is compelling, the incoming Mahama administration may better serve the electorate by focusing on a broader health system overhaul than overcommitting to incomplete infrastructure.
He says strategic, accountable leadership is crucial to prevent Agenda 111 from becoming a financial and political burden and asks the question if the new administration can fulfil the vision.
Below is Kwame’s article in full.
